Sharjah is the third-most populous city in the United Arab Emirates. Although this emirate shares legal, political, military and economic functions with the other Emirates such as Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Still, it has its own jurisdictions over some functions, provisions and maintenance of local facilities. One of which is the Sharjah Food Safety Program (SFSP). This program primarily aims to improve food safety standards in the city where it is based on the principles of good hygiene practice and of course, the well-acknowledge Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) system.
